The World is coming to St Andrews in 2027, and the Global Race is On. Golfers from every corner of the globe aspire to play one day at the Home of Golf, St Andrews, and some of those are good enough to aspire to play in The Open at the Home of Golf.
The race to qualify for The 155th Open, played at the Home of Golf, St Andrews, begins this week with the 108th edition of the Open de FedEx Open de France. The highest placed non-exempt player who makes the cut will book their ticket from Versailles to St Andrews.
Then from 8-11 October the 99th edition of the Open de Espana will offer the next opportunity for golfers to qualify for next year's Final Major of the year. The highest placed non-exempt player who makes the cut will book their ticket from Madrid to St Andrews.
In the following week the 92nd edition of the Japan Open Golf Championship will again offer a single spot into the field next July. The highest placed non-exempt player who makes the cut will book their ticket from Shiga to St Andrews.
In the last week of October the 65th edition of the Hong Kong Open will present another opportunity for golfers around the world to secure their place in the field next July. The highest placed non-exempt player who makes the cut will book their ticket from Hong Kong to St Andrews.
The first week of December will be the final chance to qualify for The 155th Open via a single tournament in 2026, with the 109th edition of the Australian Open Golf. 3 places will be on offer at Kingston Heath, with the leading 3 non-exempt finishers booking their ticket from Melbourne to St Andrews.
At the end of February 2027 the 109th edition of the New Zealand Open will offer 1 place in the field for the Open, with the highest placed non-exempt player who makes the cut booking their ticket from Queenstown to St Andrews.
In the following week two of the world's oldest golf championships will offer chances to qualify for The Open. The 119th edition of the VISA Argentina Open will offer 1 place in the field for the Open, with the highest placed non-exempt player who makes the cut booking their ticket from Buenos Aires to St Andrews.
The 116th edition of the South African Open will offer 3 places in the field for the Open, with the three highest placed non-exempt players who make the cut booking their tickets from Cape Town to St Andrews.
The 62nd edition of the Arnold Palmer Invitational will offer 1 place in the field for the Open, with the highest placed non-exempt player who makes the cut booking their ticket from Orlando to St Andrews.
Then in April, after the Masters, the Deutsche Bank Singapore Open, being played for the 58th time, will offer 2 spots into the field in St Andrews. At the end of May the 69th edition of the Korea Open will offer a single spot into the field for the 155th Open.
In the following week the 56th edition of the Mizuno Open, in Okayama, Japan will offer two places in the field for the 155th Open. The next week, the first week of June, sees the best players in the world gather at Muirfield Village for the 52nd playing of Jack's tournament - the Memorial Tournament. The leading non-exempt player will book their ticket from Ohio to Fife.
Three more places will be on offer at the 116th Canadian Open, with one place on offer at the 72nd Irish Open, and one place available at the 56th edition of the John Deere Classic.
The global journey to St Andrews concludes at the Genesis Scottish Open, with three places available at the 45th edition next July.
17 tournaments played in 14 countries across 6 continents, with a combined 1,288 years of history will be key to determining the global composition of golf's greatest championship next July in St Andrews.
