The Tartan Pro Tour today confirmed its 15th and final venue of the 2026 season, Southerness Golf Club in Dumfries and Galloway will welcome the tour from 25-27 May. The course, on the Solway coast, was opened in 1947 and next year the club will celebrate their 80th anniversary. The course measures more than 6755 yards from the championship tees, and some holes have undergone significant enhancement in recent years with work completed by McDonnell & Cooper.

The course has hosted several leading Scottish amateur championships over the last 40 years, most recently staging the 2021 Scottish Men's Open Championship. The addition of Southerness gives the Tartan Pro Tour a schedule which touches almost every part of Scotland, beginning in the Highlands with Royal Dornoch in April, before heading down the East Coast to Montrose, then down to Dumfries and Galloway to play Southerness, then back up to Aberdeen for three events, with a visit to Peebles in the Scottish Borders ahead of two events in the central belt at Blairgowrie and Downfield. Three visits to the Fife coast, including two to St Andrews, sandwich a sojourn up to Aviemore for Spey Valley ahead of the season's final two stops in Edinburgh and at Gleneagles.

There are many third level tours, in fact there are many major tours which will be looking on with envy at the 2026 Tartan Pro Tour schedule. Paul Lawrie is building a platform which bridges the gap between elite amateur and elite professional golf for Scotland's promising talents. The 'Royal Dornoch Masters' will make its debut from Tuesday 28 to Thursday 30 April, and surely be the most anticipated event of the entire season for most players. The event becomes the very first Official World Golf Ranking tournament ever staged at the iconic course in the highlands.

St Andrews will host two legs of the Tour, with the Fairmont St Andrews Torrance Course, and the Jubilee Course at St Andrews Links welcoming some of the rising stars of Scottish Golf. St Andrews' John Paterson claimed his maiden professional title on the Jubilee last September, and went on to play in the weather-affected Alfred Dunhill Links Championship two weeks later.

The leading 2 players on the Tartan Pro Tour Order of Merit will qualify for the 2027 Hotel Planner Tour.

In 2025 St Andrews' John Paterson came 7th in the rankings, and he will be desperate to improve on that ranking by making a fast start this season. He will surely fancy his chances round the Torrance Course, where he has vast experience, and successfully navigated qualifying for the 2023 St Andrews Bay Championship, a former Asian Tour International Series event.

SHANK will cover every event on the 2026 Tartan Pro Tour, particularly following John Paterson's journey along with coverage of any other local talents, with reports and updates throughout the season. Keep an eye out for confirmation of events which will be covered on site.
