The event has become the flagship of LIV Golf, with more than 100,000 fans attending across the three days of the tournament and setting the standard for engagement, and viewership. LIV Golf Adelaide has contributed more than $200million to the South Australian Economy, and last year a contract extension was signed to take the event through 2031.

LIV Golf and the South Australian Government, are collaborating on a new course for the event, designed by Greg Norman at North Adelaide Golf Course, a public facility in the heart of the city. Now, until that course is ready, Kooyonga will assume hosting duties, after The Grange has staged it for a fourth year in 2026.

Kooyonga has a long and storied tradition of hosting great events, staging 5 Australian Opens, 14 editions of the South Australian Open, and 1 Australian PGA Championship. Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Greg Norman, Kel Nagle, and Peter Thomson have won tournaments at Kooyonga, and the club will host the Women's Australian Open in 2026.
