SHANK launched in 2013 as St Andrews Golf Magazine, an online golf magazine dedicated to covering golf and the industry in St Andrews, before becoming a website and social media platform in 2021.
In the early days of the magazine SHANK was based around covering local events, with my job at the New Golf Club giving me an opportunity to cover their events when shifts allowed. The magazine also published results from some of the local golf clubs on a regular basis.
Now, I will be offering a comprehensive service to any golf club in North East Fife and easy commutable distance from Cupar.
This service will include first tee photography, featured hole photography and coverage on www.shank.golf - the clubs will then be allowed to use the images as a revenue stream by selling prints and digital files to members.
So if it is a monthly medal, seasonal meeting or the club championship, this service could add something special as a one-off, or clubs can form a long-term extensive partnership and hire me to cover their entire season.
As a Photographer I have been accredited to 10 editions of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship since 2015 (an additional 2 as a writer), the 2019 Solheim Cup, the 2017 and 2021 AIG Women's Open, 2018, 2022 and 2024 Senior Open Presented by Rolex, 2021 Trust Golf Women's Scottish Open, 2021 Hero Open, 2023 St Andrews Bay Championship, and the 2025 St Andrews Links Collegiate.

I have also covered a considerable number of local club and amateur events including the 2019, 2021, 2022 St Andrews Links Trophy, 2019, 2021 and 2022 St Rule Trophy and 2019, 2021 and 2022 R&A Local Clubs' Gold Medal, as well as Final Qualifying for the 2019 and 2022 Open Championships, held at the Fairmont St Andrews.

Off the golf course I offer The Original Photoshoot Tours in St Andrews, Dundee and Edinburgh, which are available to book on Viator, Eventbrite and TripAdvisor, with 100% 5-star reviews.
I also have an extensive golf background having been a member of North Wilts Golf Club from 1996 to 2005, studied for a Foundation Degree in Golf Management at Myerscough College (International Institute for Golf Education) from 2003 to 2005, and worked at several of the most prestigious destinations in golf. In the summers of 2004 and 2006 I was a caddie at Royal County Down Golf Club, in 2007 I was a retail assistant at Gleneagles Hotel, and in 2011 I was a caddie on the Old Course at St Andrews Links. From 2013 to 2018 I worked as part of the front of house team at the New Golf Club St Andrews, including as Clubhouse Supervisor from 2016 to 2018.
In 2024 I was hired by the Tom Morris Statue Project as their Official Photographer to cover the installation and ceremony revealing the statue to the public on 2 October.
