The opening Foursomes match of the 2025 Ryder Cup will feature a repeat of the LIV Golf Team Championship final, as Legion XIII teammates Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton will take on Crushers GC captain Bryson DeChambeau and PGA TOUR star Justin Thomas.

Day one Morning foursomes - add 5 hours for UK time

Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton v Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas 7.10am

Ludvig Aberg and Matt Fitzpatrick v Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley 7.26am

Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood v Collin Morikawa and Harris English 7.42am

Robert MacIntyre and Viktor Hovland v Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay 7.58am

"It is 2 years ago Rome, players change and their personalities change, we have so much options", Luke Donald said to the Golf Channel after the pairings were announced. "We are not coming in here with any complacency."

"This is what we feel is our best", the Englishman commented on his foursomes pairings. And there can be little doubt he is right about that. The opening duo of Rahm and Hatton are made for this stage, and have played together all year for the last two years as part of a team, delivering 9 team victories over the last two seasons, including the thrilling Team Championship victory over DeChambeau's Crushers GC in August.

Rahm is in consistent form, having won the LIV Golf League Championship in a season which he didn't win but posted 12 top-10 finishes in the 13 individual events in the LIV Golf League, in addition to top-10 finishes at both the PGA Championship and US Open Championship. Hatton is enjoying a tremendous year in which he won the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic. The Englishman had a fantastic US Open, where he was in contention until the last 3 holes, finishing in a tie for fourth place.

The rest of the European line-up is strong, and it seems to be a clear strategy from Europe to ensure they are at the very least level at lunchtime on Friday.

Sky Sports' coverage of the 2025 Ryder Cup kicks off at 9am BST with build-up from Sky studios in London, hosted by Sarah Stirk and Henni Zuel, along with 2016 European Ryder Cup player, Chris Wood. The coverage then shifts to Bethpage State Park at 12pm, where Nick Dougherty, Paul McGinley, Dame Laura Davies, Ewen Murray, Andrew Coltart, Rich Beem and Wayne Riley will be on hand.
