Tyrrell Hatton has won 8 times on the DP World Tour, and 6 of them have been after the start of September, and on Saturday he roared into contention to claim a second BMW PGA Championship title. The LIV Golf star and European Ryder Cup team member birdied 16, 17 and 18 to post a bogey-free round of 64 and move just 2 shots off the 54-hole lead.

A victory at Wentworth could set up a sensational end to the Race to Dubai, with Hatton bidding to overturn Masters Champion Rory McIlroy and claim his first Harry Vardon Trophy. "It was a good day's work" said Hatton. "I got off to a little bit of a slow start. but yeah, the last ten holes was great. Gave myself plenty of opportunities, and it's always nice to see putts going in.

I was trying to think of the hole I was on before the last leaderboard I had seen before 18. I might have been ten-under at the time. Leader might have been Viktor at 14; saw that I was four behind.

I knew that there was opportunities at the end, if you can hit the right shots, and thankful I was able to hit it in fairly close on the last few and see the putts go in.

I'm excited for tomorrow. I'm sure it depends what the guys out on the golf course, how they finish their rounds. Hopefully I won't be too far behind. I'll go out there tomorrow and give it my best, and hopefully it will be a good day."

Fellow LIV Golf players Patrick Reed and Joaquin Niemann are also in contention heading into the final round, sitting at -10 and -9 respectively, both within 6 shots of the lead.

Overnight leader Hideki Matsuyama crashed and burned with a round of 76, falling 7 shots behind the leaders. Past champion Alex Noren saved his best until last as he fired an eagle at the 18th to share the lead with Adrien Saddier ahead of the final round of the 2025 BMW PGA Championship.

With many of the players in the final two groups failing to make much progress in testing conditions at Wentworth Club, the door was left ajar for the chasing pack. And Noren, who won this Rolex Series event in 2017 and shares the course record, took full advantage as he produced a birdie-birdie-eagle finish to sign for a 66.

The European Ryder Cup vice captain is in a rich vein of form, securing his 11th DP World Tour title last month, and the highlight of his round on Saturday was undoubtedly the 17-foot eagle at the last, which pulled him alongside Frenchman Saddier on 15 under par.

Saddier is enjoying an outstanding campaign on the DP World Tour, claiming his maiden title at the Italian Open as well as securing three other top-five finishes, including at last week's Amgen Irish Open.

And he looked dangerous again on Saturday as he fired eight birdies and dropped just one shot to climb to the top of the leaderboard.
